Once up on a time there lived a wood cutter  named Ramu. One day while he was pursuing his work beside a river , his axe accidently fell in to the river. He was very disappointed and started crying.
Suddenly there appeared a   goddess from the river . She enquired the reason for his sorrow . He replied, “I lost my axe in the river”.
On hearing this the goddess vanished  and then suddenly appeared with a golden axe.             On showing this to Rama , he continued crying saying that it was not his axe. The goddess again vanished and appeared with a silver axe. But still Ramu refused to take the silver axe. Then finally the goddess appeared with Ramu’s axe.
